Sliconomics Lesson 2: What Can We learn from Drunks

While watching a drunk getting arrested, I had a vision. What can Drunks teach us about economics. No not just the fact that they buy beer which keeps the bars happy. But the fact that Drunks bring a whole new business for the police, security guards, lawyers, psychologists and taxi drivers. Yes a whole industry just for them. For famous drunks this includes celebrity photographers and rehab. Yes they are public nuisance. But they are also a reason why specific jobs have been created in the market today. That whether or not we like it drunks will always have a place in our economy. That they are the reasons why beer companies are still in business. That they might actually be a factor in why the western economy has developed, Without Drunk we mostly like have not had traffic lights, car insurance and speed limits. They drive a whole new economy which is both sustainable and long term. So what do we learn from Drunks. That without them, life will be dull and people's wallets wont be fat.
